ComTec Systems Incorporated began as a family-owned business founded in Vineland, NJ in 1988. Its primary function at that time was cabling for and installation of SMB phone systems. Over the next 30 years, the company has evolved into one of the region’s fastest growing and most successful business telecommunications and managed IT services companies. During his senior year in high school, Mike Vertolli began working in the business. Since then, his vision and leadership has been the driving force behind the company’s growth and success.


Mike Vertolli

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mike joined ComTec in 1989 as a member of the technical engineering team. Five years later in 1994, he purchased a controlling interest in the company and assumed overall control of operations. Mike helped the company develop from a two-person consulting firm into one of Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing privately-owned technology firms in the United States.

Will Taylor

Vice President of Operations

Will Taylor, ComTec’s Vice President of Operations, brings over 20 years of IT/Telecommunications operations experience, including product development, network operations, and more to our team. He is responsible for directing the overall daily operational and technical operations of ComTec.

Will’s technical expertise includes VoIP, IP Routing and Switching, colocation, and various transport engineering technologies. He also specializes in business process with experience with several operational support systems.

Will received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. His professional development/certifications include Acme Packet SIP/VoIP Training, Alcatel Lucent Optical Certified, Marconi Data Products, Nortel Passport Certified, Alcatel ATM Switches, Diversity in the Workplace, and Management & Leadership.

Mike Dalia

President, ComTec Consulting

As the president of ComTec Consulting, and a member of the executive team, Michael has an active role in directing the company’s strategic planning, product development, and distribution with a focus on corporate growth.

Since joining ComTec in 2006, Michael has positioned the consulting division and its cost reduction products to successfully serve a wide range of industries spanning from SMBes to Fortune 20 companies. Michael brings more than 25 years of experience and leadership as an executive in the telecommunications and utility industries.

Frank Allison


As Controller, Frank Allison is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing and managing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems for ComTec. In addition, he manages the company’s budget and maintains human resources. Frank brings nearly 25 years of Executive Leadership, Accounting, and Financial Analysis experience to the ComTec Family.
Prior to joining the ComTec Team, he worked as the Controller for NEST International. His main responsibilities were overseeing Finance, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Human Resources, Legal, and Risk Management.

Nicole Scandura

Director of Project Management & Installations

Nicole is responsible for overseeing and managing the project management team as well as the installation process, ensuring that all orders are installed accurately, timely and with the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Nicole joined Comtec in 2016 and did an outstanding job in her role as Sr. Project Manager, leading projects of all different types and never backing away from a challenge. Prior to ComTec, Nicole spent 11 years with NFI as an IT Project Manager which instilled great organization and communication skills, as well as honed her attention to detail. As a graduate of Rutgers School of Business, Nicole also understands the real impacts technical projects have on business operations. This unique perspective is a great benefit to ComTec's customer base.

Don Hand

Director of Network Engineering

As Director of Network Engineering, Donald is responsible for the overall management of day-to-day IT initiatives and long term goals. He is also responsible for the design and consulting for customer projects. He ensures product quality and offers technical and engineering guidance for ComTec.

Donald received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and Sciences from Stockton College in Pomona, NJ. He also has an Associate in Science Degree in Business from Atlantic Community College in Mays Landing, NJ.

Donald is an accomplished, professional Senior Systems/Network Engineer with over 25 years of experience.

Matt Merulla

Network Operations Center Manager

Matt Merulla is ComTec’s Director of R&D and our VoIP subject matter expert. His responsibilities include the day to day technical operations, training and management of ComTecs Engineering Team as well as the research and development of new Voice products and services.

Matt begin his journey with ComTec in 2012 as an IT/Network Engineer, rapidly developing through the years – becoming a Senior VoIP and Network Engineer before assuming his current position. Matt has a passion for complex problem solving and the development of new solutions and technologies.

Bill Smith

Director of Service Operations

Bill Smith of Somers Point, NJ directs day to day field and help desk operations. Bill is also tasked with the dispatching of field resources for installation and maintenance, quality inspections, warehouse management and continues the management and overseeing of cabling and camera projects. He recently was ComTec’ s Technical Services Manager.

Before joining ComTec, Bill most recently worked for AT&T, as the market manager for the Philadelphia and South Jersey regions. Prior to that, Bill spent 18 years as the EF&I manager for Acuative, formerly Telsource Corporation.

Bill brings over 20 years of technical and project management experience to his role.

Caitlin Craig

Business Operations Manager

Caitlin Craig is ComTec’s Business Operations Manager. Caitlin is responsible for providing support and high-level analysis to the management team as well as providing operational support for ComTec’s internal platforms. During her tenure, Caitlin has led the implementation of new software and processes that have allowed ComTec to streamline its back-office operations and more efficiently serve its clients, including the roll-out of a new operational support system and a new billing system.

Caitlin started with ComTec as a marketing coordinator in 2014 and has been growing with the company ever since. Prior to joining the ComTec team, she worked in the start-up and non-profit sectors. She is a graduate of Hamilton College and has a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from New York University.

Katie Lomonaco

Sales Operations Manager

Katie Lomonaco is ComTec’s Sales Operations Manager, a position critical to the successful transition of clients from the proposal process into ComTec’s Customer Experience. Katie has championed a culture of continuous improvement of all sales operations procedures, policies, and best practices. Katie’s team ensures data quality and timeliness as prospects become clients.

Katie began her career at ComTec in 2018 as an Executive Sales Administrator and quickly inserted herself into a management role because of her strong work ethic. Her professionalism and quality of work make her a great asset on the Sales Operations team.

Bob Hammond

Senior Director of Technical Sales

Bob Hammond, ComTec’s Director of Technical Consulting, brings nearly 30 years of inside/outside sales, engineering, management, consulting and corporate management to ComTec. Bob’s responsibilities include overseeing all sales functions for our technical consultants and participating in product development and marketing efforts at ComTec.

Bob’s expertise in business process consulting brings a new aspect to our team by assisting our clients in transforming their business utilizing advanced technology to enhance their speed in bringing products to market and driving down both quantitative and qualitative costs and barriers to entry.

Bob’s extensive background includes representing several major manufacturers, like Cisco and Polycom, in addition to building comprehensive service portfolios for several leading solutions providers in the New York City marketplace.

Brian Flaim

Senior Director, Channels

As the Channel Director, Brian's responsibilities include all aspects of lead generation and development of strategic partnerships. Brian's early experience as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies is supplemented by his 10 years as a small business owner in the Managed IT and software development spaces.

Since joining ComTec in 2018 Brian has spearheaded unprecedented growth in ComTec's partner program, increasing lead flow by over 400%. Brian notes, "Our focus is on being flexible and making sure our partner's are proud to introduce us to their clients. By focusing on those two areas, we have been able to build trust in our channel which results in deep relationships."

Robert Bach

Director of Product Development

As Director of Product Development Robert helps ComTec define product strategy, explore additional revenue streams and influencing the adoption of our products and services in our new and existing customer base, driving product strategy across our suite of product and service offerings as the voice of that product’s customer.

Robert brings to the ComTec team more than 20 years of experience managing technology, helpdesks and system and solution lifecycle in the Unified Communications industry. Prior to joining the team, he was VP of Unified Collaboration at WPP Group. His responsibilities included designing and implementing IT Standards for technology and system architecture and running the UC&C Help Desk and service for this global media firm.
